LAKE CHARLES — In commemoration of the 60th Anniversary year of establishment of the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, all are invited to attend the Christ the King Eucharistic Procession, a time of prayer with the Blessed Sacrament, on Saturday, Nov. 25, beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Lake Charles Civic Center.
The procession to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception will begin from the Amphitheater near Millennium Park. Parking will be in the south parking lot of the Civic Center near Gill Street. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the Monstrance and there will be a time of praying, adoring, and singing to our Lord Jesus Christ.
During the walk to the Cathedral, there will be singing to Almighty God giving Him praise and thanksgiving. Upon entry to the Cathedral everyone should gather in the pews to pray, reflect, and humble themselves to the King of Kings
--- Jesus the Christ, presenting him our prayer requests.
After receiving the Blessing from our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, everyone will pray together for the Plenary Indulgence attached to participation in the Eucharistic Procession, with conclusion by 11 a.m., so that all can walk back to their vehicles at the Civic Center.
Those unable to walk in procession, should enter the Cathedral at 8 a.m. to pray silently, awaiting the procession's arrival.
In case of rain, prayer will begin at 8:15 a.m. in the Cathedral continuing with prayer and adoration until 11 a.m.
Everyone in the diocese is welcome. All Confirmation Candidates of Our Lady Queen of Heaven are expected to attend this Eucharistic Procession along with all Prep, Life-Teen, and students at Our Lady Queen of Heaven School and Saint Louis High School are encouraged to attend with their families, according to Msgr.
