Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

MOSS BLUFF — “Together in Holiness,” a one-day marriage enrichment conference inspiring spouses — from newlyweds to empty nesters — to live out their vocation in holiness and joy, will be presented for the first time in the Diocese of Lake Charles on Saturday, May 15.

Presented by the St. John Paul II Foundation and the Diocese of Lake Charles, the conference will be hosted from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Camp Karol, 1087 Bozo Road, in Moss Bluff. The Most Rev. Glen John Provost, D.D., M.A., Bishop of Lake Charles, will be the celebrant for the closing Vigil Mass beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The St. John Paul II Foundation is a national Catholic apostolate proclaiming the good news about life and family through education and formation. As St. John Paul II famously said, “As goes the family, so goes the nation, so goes the entire world in which we live.”

Among the conference speakers are Blaine and Denise Wyninger, from the Diocese of Lake Charles. They will be joined by Rev. Andrew DeRouen for a presentation on “Embracing and Proclaiming the Good News About Life and Love.” The Wyningers are both educators and serve as the national couple for Domestic Church. Father DeRouen, ordained in 2020, serves as parochial vicar of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, and St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.

Other speakers include Leonora Butau, PhD, Associate Fellow of St. John Paul II Foundation; and Steve and Becky Greene, Catholic speakers, writers and co-hosts of “The Catholic Conversation.” Dr. Butau will speak on “Formed for Love: The Gift and Mystery of Marriage,” while the Greenes will present a talk on “Male and Female He Created Them” — Man and Woman in God’s Plan.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be offered during the day, and exhibitor booths will be available throughout the conference.

The cost of $59 per couple, or $35 per individual includes a box lunch and light afternoon snack for each registrant. On-site childcare for ages 4-12 will be offered at a limited capacity for $5 per child, and unlimited scholarships are available for families in need of financial assistance with the cost of registration. Early bird registration fees of $49 per couple, or $29 per individual are available through April 12.
