LAKE CHARLES — Rev. Trey Ange, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings will lead us into 2024 with the next session of “An Afternoon with Christ,” 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 14, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The afternoon will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by a reflection by Father Ange, and conclude with Benediction.
As part of the National Eucharistic Revival, the goal of "An Afternoon with Christ" is to help people foster a habit of spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The Year of Parish Revival — Phase II of the national effort — has been under way since June 11, 2023.
The schedule of “An Afternoon with Christ” presenters through April of 2024 are as follows, all on Sundays:
• January 14 at 2:30 p.m. — Rev. Trey Ange, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings
• February 4 at 2:30 p.m. — Rev. D.B. Thompson, Promoter of Justice and Judge on the Diocesan Tribunal
• March 10 at 2:30 p.m. — Rev. Andrew DeRouen, Parochial Vicar at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Lake Charles; and Chaplain at both St. Louis Catholic High School and St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School
• April 21 (World Day of Prayer for Vocations) at 3:00 p.m. — Rev. Michael Caraway, Director of Vocations and Seminarians
