Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES — The Diocese of Lake Charles will continue its monthly series, "An Afternoon with Christ," on March 10, the Fourth Sunday of Lent, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 935 Bilbo Street. Rev. Andrew DeRouen, Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur, will share a reflection on the importance of Eucharistic Adoration.

The afternoon will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by a reflection by Father DeRouen, and conclude with Benediction.

As part of the National Eucharistic Revival, the goal of "An Afternoon with Christ" is to help people foster a habit of spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The Year of Parish Revival — Phase II of the national effort — has been under way since June 11, 2023.

Rev. Michael Caraway, Director of Vocations and Seminarians, will lead the “Afternoon with Christ” in April on World Day of Prayer for Vocations (April 21) at 3:00 p.m. Please note the time change for this date.
