Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES -- Bishop Glen John Provost has asked the faithful of the Diocese of Lake Charles to join with him in praying for Peace in Iraq, specificially through the prayer composed by His Beatitude Louis Rafael Sako, Chaldean Catholic Patriarch of Iraq.

The Bishop also urges all people of good will in the Diocese of Lake Charles and beyond to tell their elected representatives know of the many concerns they have for Christians and other religious minorities who are in dire straits in Iraq, Syria, Egypt and other countries.

Patriarch Sako's prayer follows:

Lord, The plight of our country is deep and the suffering of Christians
is severe and frightening. Therefore, we ask you Lord to spare our lives,
and to grant us patience, and courage to continue our witness of Christian
values with trust and hope. Lord, peace is the foundation of life;
Grant us the peace and stability that will enable us to live with each other
without fear and anxiety, and with dignity and joy.

Glory be to you forever.

† Louis Raphael I Sako

Bishop Provost also asks that we continue to pray with Pope Francis and Patriarch Sako for an end to the violence in the Middle East and for a peace that will allow all people to live in harmony without fear.
