The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles is seeking qualified applicants for a new full-time position - Diocesan Director of Sacred Music.

The position will also have part-time duties at St. Louis Catholic High School. The deadline to complete and return application is Friday, April 13, 2018.

Responsibilities include planning of all music for Pontifical Liturgies, teaching music at St. Louis Catholic High School, recruiting for and rehearsing with the Bishop's Chorale, and providing resources to clergy and parish music directors.

Qualified applicants must be faithful Roman Catholics who adhere to the teaching of the Church; have a minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in Liturgical or Sacred Music or Organ/Keyboard/Vocal Performance; be an accomplished organist with working knowledge of piano keyboard; have familiarity with the human voice and how to train it; have a personality willing and able to recruit choral membership, be proactive with social and fundraising events; have knowledge of Church documents on Liturgical Music in the Sacred Liturgy; knowledge of and experience with the Classic Catholic Choral Tradition; and have computer skills necessary to prepare programs for Pontifical Liturgies.

Compensation will be a suitable salary adjusted for education and experience and full benefits provided by employer.
