Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana is seeking a VISTA Outreach Coordinator who can dedicate one year of service to the non-profit organization. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with volunteers and staff to better understand how to meet current and future needs in the community and develop ideas on how to better utilize skills and interests and match them with disaster-related needs. Skills required include: writing/editing, experience with disaster services, computers/technology, teaching/tutoring, public speaking, and fundraising/grant writing. 

Catholic Charities is a respected advocate for the poor and a trusted service provider in the community. Catholic Charities has historically provided an expansive food bank with monthly food distributions and provides a variety of different types of financial assistance to aid families in regaining stability in times of crisis and hardship. The VISTA position is part of Catholic Charities USA's Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, the outreach coordinator will meet virtually with VISTA leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
