RAGLEY — On August 4, 1903, Pope Pius X devoted his papacy to Instaurare Omnia in Christo, “Restore all things in Christ.” That motto was on full display 120 years later at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in the Diocese of Lake Charles as Bishop Glen John Provost blessed the newly refurbished church and parish hall on August 20, 2023.
LAKE CHARLES — The Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lake Charles announced on August 10, 2023, that the Diocese has earned system accreditation by Cognia™, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers.

In a memo addressed to The Clergy of the Diocese of Lake Charles on Monday, August, 21, 2023, Bishop Glen John Provost is requesting prayers and Masses specifically for rain. His Excellency also seeks the intercession of our Blessed Mother for life-giving water, while she continues to protect us from storms and destructive weather.

A team of Priests could have used some “Angels in the Outfield” to hold on to their wiffle ball championship title. Instead, the Seminarians came out swinging and never looked back during the 2023 Bishop’s Invitational Wiffle Ball Classic on Saturday, August 5. After an upset in 2022, the Seminarians triumphed this year 11-5 to claim bragging rights over the Priests.
