Sunday, Dec. 28: Closing Mass for Jubilee Year
LAKE CHARLES — His Excellency, Bishop Glen John Provost, invites all the faithful to the Closing Celebration Mass for the Jubilee Year of Hope at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, December 28, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 935 Bilbo Street. As we conclude this holy year locally in the Diocese of Lake Charles, let us gather in thanksgiving and prayer as we commend the fruits of this sacred year to the Lord and renew our call to walk as Pilgrims of Hope in our communities. The Jubilee Year of Hope will conclude on January 6, 2026, when the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica is closed.

JANUARY 2026

Sunday, Jan. 11: Epiphany Concert
KINDER — Join BonaVox at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for a special Epiphany concert. This year the theme is "A New Day Dawns" and features works by Gjeilo, Hagenberg, Dunphy, Lauridsen, and more that discuss light, celestial journeys, and heartfelt gifts. Come re-center at the end of the holiday season. Admission is free. St. Philip Neri Catholic Church is located at 607 Fourth Avenue in Kinder.
 
Thursday, January 22: Life March Southwest
LAKE CHARLES — The annual Louisiana Life March Southwest is planned for Thursday, January 22. The March will begin at the Veterans Memorial near the Lake Charles Event Center at 6:00 p.m. and walk to the Courthouse steps for a candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. (Meet at Veterans Memorial Park at 5:30 p.m.)

Proverbs 31 Foundation Girls Group
Proverbs 31 Foundation is a newly formed youth ministry group and service organization established from scriptural authority of God’s purpose and provision for Girls. 

Sponsored by the Diocese of Lake Charles and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Proverbs 31 Foundation is a catechesis in biblical femininity and virtue development for Girls ages 12-18 cultivated in the charisms of the great female Saints in which the feminine genius is intentionally mentored.

Middle School and High School groups of girls will be shepherded into knowing their inherent dignity and worth in Christ Jesus. The mission of the Proverbs 31 Foundation is to reverently inspire truth, goodness and beauty and to intentionally cultivate and mentor wise and graceful girls who are prayerful, contemplative, humble, and obedient to our Lord — devoutly serving Christ and His Church.

FEBRUARY 2026  

Feb. 13-15: Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat
MOSS BLUFF — A Rachel's Vineyard Retreat is scheduled the weekend of February 13-15, 2026, at Saint Charles Center, 2151 Sam Houston Jones Parkway. The retreat, sponsored by the Diocese of Lake Charles, is strictly confidential and offers a beautiful opportunity to experience God's love, forgiveness, and compassion.

If you are a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend affected by abortion, and you are struggling with guilt, depression, regret, or other difficult emotions from an abortion, come experience the healing love of Jesus Christ on a Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat.

Saturday, Feb. 28: Theresians Morning of Reflection
MOSS BLUFF — Mark your calendars for the annual Morning of Reflection hosted by the Fleur de Lis District Theresians on Saturday, February 28. Guest speaker will be the Very Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Camp Karol, 1087 Bozo Road. More details to follow at a later date.

GRIEF TO GRACE RETREATS
Grief to Grace - Healing the Wounds of Abuse is a five-day spiritual and psychological retreat program for anyone who has suffered degradation or violation through physical, emotional, sexual, or spiritual abuse. It is appropriate for those who have endured sexual abuse, rape, incest, or other forms of traumatic violation in childhood, adolescence, or as an adult. It is also suitable for those who have suffered abuse by a member of the clergy. Upcoming retreat dates are:
• 2026: Tuesday, April 21 through Saturday, April 25
• 2026: Tuesday, September 15 through Saturday, September 19

RACHEL’S VINEYARD RETREATS
Rachel's Vineyard weekends for healing after abortion are offered throughout the year in locations across the United States and Canada, with additional sites around the world. Rachel’s Vineyard is a ministry of Priests for Life. Upcoming retreats at Saint Charles Center are:

TRUE PRESENCE RETREATS
The True Presence Retreat emphasizes the powerful effect of the Sacraments, contains frank and open sharing, and offers loving service to every retreatant. Additionally, the retreat incorporates from the very beginning, strong catechesis of key points of the Catholic Faith with special emphasis on typology of the Word, and the core reality of Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist. OFFICE OF VOCATIONS

THE FIRE WITHIN, Setting Hearts Ablaze — Saturday, February 21, 2026: Young men in high school to age 25 are invited to join the Office of Vocations for a day of recollection at Camp Karol from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. The day will consist of prayer, talks, and fellowship for those seeking to discern God’s will for their life. Mass with Father Michael Caraway and some of the seminarians from the Diocese of Lake Charles will be celebrated. Camp Karol is located at 1087 Bozo Road in Moss Bluff. QUO VADIS — June 26-28, 2026: Young men, ages 16-25 who are open to God’s Will, are invited to join the seminarians, priests, and other young men from the Diocese of Lake Charles for a time of prayer, talks, and recreation at Camp Karol, 1087 Bozo Road in Moss Bluff. Registration is available beginning March 25.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage
Join Father Rommel Tolentino on a spiritual pilgrimage to Mexico City April 13-19, 2026. Communal First Saturday Devotions at Cathedral
LAKE CHARLES — Communal First Saturday Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be offered on the first Saturday of each month at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 935 Bilbo Street. Schedule includes: 7:20 a.m. – Devotion Prayers; 7:30 a.m. – Rosary; 8:00 a.m. – Mass, receive Holy Communion; 8:30 a.m. – 15-minute meditation on the Mysteries of the Rosary. 
 
Although confession will not be available before Mass, one can make a good confession eight days before or after with the intention of offering reparation for the offenses against Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, provided you are in the state of grace upon receiving Holy Communion.
  
Eucharistic Adoration in St. Bernadette Oratory
LAKE CHARLES — The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception will have Eucharistic Adoration in the St. Bernadette Oratory on Fridays during the school year — each Friday following 7:00 a.m. Mass until 8:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to come and spend time with our Lord and pray for the protection of our children and safety of our families.
 
Holy Hour of Reparation at IHM
LAKE CHARLES — A Holy Hour of Reparation is held weekly on Thursday night, 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2031 Opelousas Street. This is the hour in which Our Lord agonized over our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is the same hour prescribed by the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary: “Make reparation for the ingratitude of men. Spend an hour in prayer to appease divine justice, to implore mercy for sinners, to honor Me, to console Me for My bitter suffering when abandoned by My apostles, when they did not WATCH ONE HOUR WITH ME.”
 
'Together for Life' marriage prep classes
The Melchizedek Project hosts meetings for young men in high school and college in an environment where they can freely consider God's plan in their life. Adoration/Divine Mercy at Saint Charles Center
MOSS BLUFF — Deacon Brian Soileau, director of Saint Charles Center, presides over Eucharistic Adoration and Divine Mercy at 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday in the Chapel of the Assumption. Saint Charles Center is located at 2151 Sam Houston Jones Parkway. Religious Sisters of Mercy monthly gathering
LAKE CHARLES — Join the Religious Sisters of Mercy for a small group ENDOW study on St. John Paul II's Letter to Women. The group study, for single women ages 18-35, meets on the first Tuesday monthly for dinner and discussion at the Sisters’ convent, 1414 Martha Street. ENDOW (Educating on the Nature of and Dignity of Women) seeks to educate women toward are more profound understanding of their God-given dignity through study in small groups of faith and friendship.
