Saturday, Nov. 14: Diocesan Marriage Conference

SULPHUR — Registration is open for the Diocesan Marriage Conference sponsored by the Office of Marriage and Family Life on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 1109 Cypress Street, Sulphur. The theme is “Beloved” with special emphasis on the Grace of the Sacrament of Marriage. Cost is $65 per couple and includes light breakfast and lunch for two. CLICK HERE to register.

Saturday, Dec. 12: A Merry Little Mahjong

LAKE CHARLES — Gather your mahjong besties and join the St. Louis Catholic Foundation for A Merry Little Mahjong on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Ave Maria Hall across the street from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 935 Bilbo Street.

This holiday fundraiser brings together friendly American Mahjong, brunch bites, bubbly refreshments, and plenty of Christmas cheer—all in support of Catholic education.

Enjoy open-table play featuring Foundation House Rules, door prizes, festive favors, and a few merry little surprises. Monday, Dec. 14: Concert at St. Theodore
MOSS BLUFF — World-class pianist, composer and international speaker Eric Genius will be featured in a concert at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, 785 Sam Houston Jones Parkway. GRIEF TO GRACE RETREATS
Grief to Grace - Healing the Wounds of Abuse is a five-day spiritual and psychological retreat program for anyone who has suffered degradation or violation through physical, emotional, sexual, or spiritual abuse. It is appropriate for those who have endured sexual abuse, rape, incest, or other forms of traumatic violation in childhood, adolescence, or as an adult. It is also suitable for those who have suffered abuse by a member of the clergy. Upcoming retreat dates are:

Deacon Brian Soileau, Director of Saint Charles Center, presides over Eucharistic Adoration and Divine Mercy at 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday in the Chapel of the Assumption. MOSS BLUFF — Young men, ages 16-25 who are open to God’s Will, are invited to join seminarians, priests, and other young men from our Diocese for “The Fire Within” on Saturday, February 20, 2027. The day will be a time of prayer, talks, and recreation at Camp Karol Catholic Youth Camp, 1087 Bozo Road. There is no cost to attend.

Sunday, Feb. 21: Radiance
MOSS BLUFF — The Office of Vocations will host “Radiance” for young women on Sunday, February 21, 2027, at Camp Karol Catholic Youth Camp, 1087 Bozo Road. There is no cost to attend.

The day of recollection, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is open to young women in high school to 25 years old who are interested in learning how to discern where the Lord is calling them. There will be religious sisters and women who are married available to speak about listening to the voice of God as they discern His will for them.

Quo Vadis retreat

MOSS BLUFF — The Office of Vocations will host the annual Quo Vadis retreat June 11-13, 2027, at Camp Karol Catholic Youth Camp. This retreat gives young men who will be in high school to age 25 the opportunity to discern where the Lord is calling them. The retreat is filled with prayer, talks, recreation and fellowship with some of the priests and seminarians from our Diocese, as well as other young men from our area.

Communal First Saturday Devotions at St. Theodore

MOSS BLUFF — Communal First Saturday Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be offered on the first Saturday of each month at St. Theodore Catholic Church, 785 Sam Houston Jones Parkway. Schedule includes: 7:50 a.m. – Devotion Prayers; 8:00 a.m. – Rosary; 8:30 a.m. – Mass, receive Holy Communion; 9:00 a.m. – 15-minute meditation on the Mysteries of the Rosary.

One can make a good confession eight days before or after with the intention of offering reparation for the offenses against Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, provided you are in the state of grace upon receiving Holy Communion.

Holy Hour of Reparation at IHM
LAKE CHARLES — A Holy Hour of Reparation is held weekly on Thursday night, 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2031 Opelousas Street. This is the hour in which Our Lord agonized over our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is the same hour prescribed by the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary: “Make reparation for the ingratitude of men. Spend an hour in prayer to appease divine justice, to implore mercy for sinners, to honor Me, to console Me for My bitter suffering when abandoned by My apostles, when they did not WATCH ONE HOUR WITH ME.”

'Together for Life' marriage prep classes
