Welcome to the Diocese of Lake Charles

Legatus Lake Charles Chapter

The Lake Charles Chapter of Legatus marked a significant milestone on February 26, 2026, as members gathered to celebrate the chapter’s 10th anniversary. The evening was a joyful reflection on a decade of faith, fellowship, and commitment to living out Catholic values in the marketplace.

The celebration featured Legatus International President, Stephen Henley, who delivered an inspiring message centered on leadership, integrity, and the importance of boldly living one’s faith in both business and daily life. His remarks encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in their mission to study, live, and spread the Catholic faith within their professional and personal spheres. Henley is also the host of the new Legatus podcast, “Eleven Talents”.

A highlight of the evening was the beautiful musical performance by Bishop Glen John Provost, who shared his musical talents at the piano, accompanied by Audra Melton on violin and Danley Romero on cello. The performance added a special and memorable touch to the celebration, showcasing not only the Bishop’s pastoral leadership but also his artistry.

As the chapter looks ahead to the future, the 10th anniversary stands as a testament to the dedication of its members and the continued growth of Catholic leadership within the Lake Charles community.

Legatus strives to provide business leaders and entrepreneurs with faith formation and a community where they can build meaningful relationships with other Catholics running similarly sized organizations. Legatus is unique in offering events and membership to couples — spouses receive all the benefits of membership, and couples attend monthly events together. The monthly events offer the opportunity for confession, praying the rosary and attending Mass followed by dinner and a presentation from a dynamic speaker. Past speakers include Father Leo Patalinghug and Gus Lloyd, and the 2026 program includes Brian Schmisek and Joshua Morris.

One of more than 95 chapters in the United States, the Lake Charles chapter currently has 24 members. Membership is open to those who are Catholics in good standing with the church, hold a top position in a qualifying organization that meets certain criteria for size and payroll volume. Membership is also open to those who may be retired but previously held a qualifying role.
