MOSS BLUFF – Eighteen men attended the recent Diocese of Lake Charles Quo Vadis Days Retreat held at Saint Charles Center and sponsored through the Office of Vocation.
LAKE CHARLES – Lucy and Calvin Foreman, parishioners of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa who celebrate their 70th anniversary of Christian marriage this year, were among 35 couples honored by Bishop Glen John Provost during the annual marriage jubilee Mass in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday, Sunday, June 11. The Foreman's were married on December 21, 1947 at St. Raphael Church.

LAKE CHARLES -- The Abrazando Cristo Mission Program wishes to thank the 629 ticketholders of the recent Big Cash Giveaway Fundraiser for the mission trip to Nicaragua and the Johnnie Thbodeaux Memorial Golf Tournament for their support to the mission program.
Father Egidio A. Vecchio, M.S., 90, a member of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, died May 25, 2017, at St. Dominic Village Nursing Home in Houston, Texas.
The Office of Catholic Schools is pleased to announce that Deacon Glenn Viau has been named as the interim principal for St. Louis Catholic School for the 2017-2018 school year. He will begin his term on Monday, July 17, and conclude upon the installation of a new principal. Deacon Viau currently serves as Pastoral Associate at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. A native of New Orleans, Deacon Viau was ordained as a deacon on June 9, 2000 by Bishop Jude Speyrer.

LAKE CHARLES – Changes will be introduced to some of the communications vehicles of the Diocese of Lake Charles beginning in July in an attempt to be more in touch with more of today’s media savvy Catholics.

LAKE CHARLES -- Bishop Glen John Provost was the presiding prelate on Saturday, June 3, at the Mass of Ordination for a new priest for the Diocese of Lake Charles – Rev. Sam A. “Trey” Ange III – and a transitional deacon – Deacon Samuel Orsot – in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
LAKE CHARLES – Reverend Monsignor Daniel A. Torres, Vicar General of the Diocese of Lake Charles, was the featured speaker of the 2017 commencement ceremonies of St. Louis Catholic High School at which 159 seniors of the school graduated May 16 in Burton Coliseum. Of those seniors, 59 were honors graduates, the highest in the school’s history.
LAKE CHARLES – Two individuals were honored at the 2017 Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana Jazz Brunch for their generous contributions of self and resources to aid those most in need of assistance in Southwest Louisiana.
