LAKE CHARLES – Trevor Donnelly, currently the principal of Our Lady’s Catholic School in Sulphur, has been named as the new principal, beginning the 2018-2019 school term, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School.
Donnelly earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. A lifelong student of Catholic schools, he came to Lake Charles in 1996 to begin graduate studies in Education at McNeese State University, where he served as a graduate assistant.
He graduated McNeese in 1998 with a Master’s Degree in Education and began his teaching career as a teacher and coach at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas.
In 1999, Donnelly came on board at St. Louis Catholic High School as Chair of the Social Studies Department, where he worked as a teacher and coach until 2004.
That year, he earned his endorsement in Gifted Education and began teaching gifted students with the Calcasieu Parish School System Department of Gifted and Talented Services.
He became principal of Our Lady’s School in 2010.
Donnelly has been married to Hollie Donnelly for 16 years and the couple has two children. They are parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.
