LAKE CHARLES — The grand opening of an elaborate exhibit featuring Our Lady of Guadalupe was the highlight of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Hispanic Community in the Diocese of Lake Charles on Saturday, Dec. 11.

I am pleased to announce the addition of a new Director of Fiscal Affairs for the Diocese of Lake Charles, Mr. Jacob Troutman, C.P.A., MAcc. He will assume this office effective January 1, 2022.

LAKE CHARLES — Priests and Religious, as well as those who pray for vocations, were honored during the annual Serra Club of Lake Charles Recognition Dinner at Treasures of Marilyn’s on Thursday, December 2.

At their annual Fall Plenary Assembly in Baltimore November 15-18, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops agreed that the sainthood causes for three laypeople from the U.S. should be advanced by their respective dioceses. Two causes, those of Charlene Marie Richard and Auguste Robert “Nonco” Pelafigue, were presented by Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel of Lafayette.
