A team of Priests could have used some “Angels in the Outfield” to hold on to their wiffle ball championship title. Instead, the Seminarians came out swinging and never looked back during the 2023 Bishop’s Invitational Wiffle Ball Classic on Saturday, August 5. After an upset in 2022, the Seminarians triumphed this year 11-5 to claim bragging rights over the Priests.

RAGLEY — On August 4, 1903, Pope Pius X devoted his papacy to Instaurare Omnia in Christo, “Restore all things in Christ.” That motto was on full display 120 years later at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in the Diocese of Lake Charles as Bishop Glen John Provost blessed the newly refurbished church and parish hall on August 20, 2023.

The memory of the first volunteer at Saint Charles Center will live on through the generosity of her daughter and longtime friendship of the Center’s first director. 

In a memo addressed to The Clergy of the Diocese of Lake Charles on Monday, August, 21, 2023, Bishop Glen John Provost is requesting prayers and Masses specifically for rain. His Excellency also seeks the intercession of our Blessed Mother for life-giving water, while she continues to protect us from storms and destructive weather.

LAKE CHARLES — Knights of Columbus Council 1207 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception received the Faith Award at the Louisiana State Council Knights of Columbus 118th State Convention in Lafayette on May 5, 2023.

On Sunday, June 11, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Feast of Corpus Christi), the National Eucharistic Revival entered its second phase — Year of Parish Revival. The focus of this phase is to foster Eucharistic devotion and strengthen liturgical life through faithful celebration of the Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
