Bishop Provost Celebrates 50 Years of Priesthood

LAKE CHARLES — Bishop Glen John Provost was ordained a priest by His Holiness Pope Paul VI on June 29 during the Jubilee Year of 1975. Fifty years later, he celebrates his golden jubilee to the priesthood during the Jubilee Year of 2025. His ordination took place at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Father Engurait Appointed Bishop for Houma-Thibodaux
WASHINGTON – Pope Leo XIV has appointed Reverend Simon Peter Engurait, a priest of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux and current diocesan administrator, as the Bishop of Houma-Thibodaux.

Bishop Glen John Provost accepted Cameron Fontenot and Michael DesOrmeaux to Candidacy for Holy Orders during the 12:05 p.m. Mass in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

LeBleu Retires as Longtime Communications Director

The “little Catholic church” on Highway 171 launched its “Building the Future, Rooted in Faith” Capital Campaign at the beginning of 2025, but efforts to raise money started long before the targeted fundraising was official.
