LAKE CHARLES – Father Jeffrey Starkovich, pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, has been appointed to serve as Director of Continuing Formation for Priests in the Diocese of Lake Charles, effective July 1, 2021.

His Excellency, The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, ordained one man — Reverend Michael Beverung — to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Lake Charles on Saturday, May 22, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. LAKE CHARLES — Deacon Michael Beverung is surprised at how comfortable he is giving homilies. He knew it would be something he was going to have to get used to doing, but now says it has been one of his favorite things to do during his final year of seminary studies.

An online giving platform is available to support the pro-life healing ministries of Rachel’s Vineyard and Grief to Grace in the Diocese of Lake Charles.

LAKE CHARLES — On Tuesday, May 18, St. Louis Catholic High School awarded degrees to the Class of 2021 during a commencement ceremony in the Burton Coliseum Complex. Mia Touchet is principal of St. Louis Catholic High School, and Blaine Wyninger is assistant principal. The Invocation was given by the Very Rev. Ruben Villarreal, Chaplain; and the Benediction was given by the Rev. Nathan Long, Rector.
