LAKE CHARLES -- The celebration of the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, which has been broadcast live on the radio - KLCL (1470-AM), since the beginning of the Diocese of Lake Charles and additionally - more recently - on Jennings' KJEF-AM (1290-AM) as well streaming on both stations' websites, will now also be aired on Radio Maria 91.1 FM beginning May 13, continuing on each second Sunday thereafter.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Chairmen for the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations and the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth have expressed gratitude for the openness and honesty of the young adults who participated as delegates to the Pre-Synodal Meeting in anticipation of this October’s Ordinary Synod of Bishops on Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment.

When our Lord rose in the synagogue of Nazareth to proclaim the words of Isaiah, He proclaimed this as His mission: “’The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord’” (Luke 4:18-19).
