LAKE CHARLES — “Everyone Deserves a Birthday” was the theme for the 27th annual Louisiana Life March in downtown Lake Charles on January 22, 2023, on what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. More than 100 people braved the cold wind with one message in mind: Every life matters at every stage of life.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) invites Catholic composers, hymn-writers, and poets to submit entries for the Eucharistic Revival Musical Competition. The goal of this competition is to express and renew our zeal for the Eucharist through poetry and song.

LAKE CHARLES — If there is one word that sums up “Festival of Nations: Celebrating the Epiphany of the Lord,” it would be unity.
The inaugural bilingual event hosted by the Diocese of Lake Charles at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Founders’ Hall on Saturday, January 7, attracted nearly 600 hundred people of all ages for an opportunity to embrace traditions of other countries, but more importantly to come together as one faith to adore the Lord just as the Three Wise Men did more than two thousand years ago.

LAKE CHARLES — The Diocese of Lake Charles joined thousands around the world in honoring the late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI on January 5, 2023, the same day he was laid to rest in the grottos of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The former pontiff died at the age of 95 on December 31, 2022.
