Now that I have concluded my “Thoughts from the Bishop’s Chapel,” I wish to thank all of you who so graciously expressed your gratitude for my humble efforts in this regard.

MOSS BLUFF – Holy Family Catholic School will not reopen for classes in the fall of 2020, according to Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau, pastor of St. Theodore Catholic Church, and Kimberlee Gazzolo, Superintendent of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Lake Charles.
LAKE CHARLES – In this time of the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing, the 153-member 2020 Senior Class of St. Louis Catholic High School held its commencement ceremony on the grass field of Cougar Stadium on Thursday, May 28.
Several priests throughout the Diocese of Lake Charles will continue to live-stream some of their Masses on various church parish websites and/or Facebook pages as churches gradually reopen. LAKE CHARLES — The highly anticipated ordinations of four men to the priesthood for the Diocese of Lake Charles will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop, will be the ordaining prelate with the Very Reverend Ruben J. Buller, Vicar General, serving as Master of Ceremonies.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On May 1, 2020, I lifted the suspension on public liturgies in the Diocese of Lake Charles. Pastors are asked to use their discretion while respecting current guidelines regarding the number and manner of attendance to ensure that the faithful have access to the Eucharist. Our liturgical tradition puts many options at our disposal.
